Our fly fishing classes are near home, within 1.2 hours of Denver, Colorado.  They offer you the opportunity to learn what you want in small classes and at your own pace.  Our classes never have more than 6 students working with each of our friendly fly fishing instructors.  Each of our fly fishing classes is carefully developed to cover one or more subjects in the vast range of topics encompassed by the sport of fly fishing from beginning fly fishing to angling for specific species like carp, or learning a new technique like Tight-Line Nymphing, High Stick Flyfishing or Fly Casting. Fly Fishing Classes consist of 5-8 hours on the water (depending on the topic of the class).

Beginning Fly Fishing Skills | 249

Learn fly fishing with our friendly instructors on some of Colorado’s most beautiful and fish-full private waters.  You will learn the basics of entomology and flies, trout habits and holding lies, knots, rigging, and casting. This class is taught on the water.  You will learn how to read water, develop an understanding of holding and feeding lies, cover, structure and the water-speed fish seek as well as the basics: rigging your fly fishing system and fishing with it.

This class on private water features the same curriculum as our Fly Fishing 101 class but is strictly for women and girls.  It’s simply a better learning environment for many people.  When this gender exclusivity is combined with the gorgeous private waters of Colorado it becomes a wonderful day of learning the basics of this quiet sport in a beautiful, pristine, Alpine environment – don’t forget about all those ‘private-water-fish’!
